Dementia Friendly & Enabled Communities

"The aim of a dementia friendly community isn't to separate people with dementia from others; but to include them to the fullest extent possible." (Life Changes Trust)

A dementia friendly Inverclyde is where the whole community is committed to working together and helping people living with dementia remain a part of their community, where they feel included and involved and have choice and control in their daily lives. Supporting people impacted by dementia to live well and stay connected, we are working to create a community that is more aware and inclusive in order to empower people impacted by dementia to remain active citizens.

How can YOU help Inverclyde become dementia friendly?

- Treat people impacted by dementia with respect, understanding and dignity.

- Take part in a short awareness session to increase your understanding.

- Use your lived experience of dementia to join our advisory network.

- Volunteer to become a Dementia Advocate.

- Consider the small changes that could be made to make your space more accessible and inclusive.
